OR IS IT?

Having abandoned my quest to pick up a Rossi R92 .454* I have since moved on to less rare pastures and am now considering a Taurus Thunderbolt in the .45 (http://www.gunblast.com/Taurus_Thunderbolt.htm) flavor. The stainless looks pretty hot and supposedly they strengthened the original Lightning action. I've heard that the feed can be a tad finicky, and $600 seems to be the going rate these days.

Anyone have one of these? I'd assume you've had it for a while, so how's it been holding up? Any long term quirks, that sort of thing? I come across this site often in my research to where I figure if anybody knows, it would be you guys, so thanks in advance!

*Uhg, unless you have sources from God above, don't even bother with this one. While the rossie would be my first choice, a 454 Stainless simply doesn't exist. :banghead:

I have been considering one of these also and also look forward to reports from the great members of the high road.

wild west guns makes some nice 'alaskan guide guns' that are sort of a nicer version of the rossi. i'm sure you could get one in 454 and stainless. but you're gonna pay for it.

Well, there's a "thunderbolt" here for $315 with no takers. These were intended for the Cowboy Action Shooting crowd and frankly didn't work. They were so bad Taurus wouldn't honor their "lifetime warranty" and have discontinued them.

yeah bad bet
the Thunderbolt was very nearly a non-event
(after advertising them for nearly two years before actually producing any)

lots and lots of complaints, never really got off the ground before they quit making 'em all together
despite relatively low production numbers, they are not that hard to find, because nobody wants 'em
