I recall reading on this forum(i think) about a holster that is made to go in the inside pocket of the 5.11 tactical vest by Royal Robbins. I believe it had velcro to keep it in place. Can anyone point me to the manufacturer?

I know Eagle and Black hawk both make these holsters, and other accessories for this vest.

Blackhawk (http://www.blackhawkindustries.com/)

Eagle Industries (http://www.eagleindustries.com/welcome.asp)

When you get your order filled, be sure to give us a review.

I had one before but didn't like it and returned it...it hung too low to be comfortable and practical.

I agree with Skunk. I've never been a fan of guns in outerwear. The exception might be my Coronado Leather jacket. They sewed the inside with a gun in mind, so it carries better. It's hard to explain, but the weight is supported on the inside of the jacket, not the shell. I have a 5.11 vest, but I use it to cover the gun on a belt holster, not actually carry the gun.

I thought it would be useful for driving so I could have it in crossdraw instead of having to reach behind my back and seatbelt to get to it if I needed it. It still was uncomfortable and rode too low.

For that I'd recommend a Wilderness Safepacker. But maybe if you have a lighter gun, it would work? I was using a Beretta 92G with carbon fiber grips :o
