I shoot the 55 grain variety of that ammunition. I've fired about 1500 rounds over the past 8 months and had maybe 5 rounds that failed to fire. No malfunctions, jams etc. Great plinking ammo for the money.

I've never had any problems with it and would snag the deal you got. I did buy some of the HOTSHOT ammo, (from Century) and it's pretty rough, lots of blown primers and pretty lucky I didn't break a firing pin.

Nope. Their 55g stuff is great. Their 62g stuff is crap. I've no idea why there's such a difference.

What about it is crap? Accuracy? Velocity? Reliability?
I've shot 1000 rounds of their 62gr stuff that comes in the blue box with no problem. Is this stuff really that bad?

Yes, Prvi is great stuff.

many reports of their 855 popping primers and being otherwise inconsistent.
their 193 though, is awesome and i've been through many thousands of rounds of it with no prob at all
cbrgator, out of curiosity, when did you buy yours?
btw, for whatever reason, m193 seems to be the ONLY prvi i've had luck with. i've been very disappointed in their match stuff in both 308 and 223.

I've shot a lot of their M855, and had no problems with it.

I bought the stuff I mentioned about a year ago. It's not M855, its regular .223. Don't know how the performance differs though, hence the original question.

ah, no i think that stuff is fine. and actually, i've heard their match stuff works well in other guns. it just wasn't accurate enough for me.
just to be clear, this is me repeating what i've heard about m855 (unreliable) which i haven't used personally since i was warned off. however, i do have personal experience with m193 and their match stuff. i found it completely reliable, but the match stuff wasn't as accurate as i needed.
as with most ammo, performance tends to vary by lots and maybe it has improved over time

I have shot a bunch of both with great results. I thinks it qualifies as a best buy in both gr weights. I have a lot of it stashed away for my htf hoard.

I've fired around 60 rounds of this ammo, but I bought it from MidwayUSA. Looks like the same stuff. It was full power rounds that were right in line with other M855 62 gr Penetrator rounds. Measured 2990 fps for 1231 ft-lbs out of my 16" S&W M&P 15. No jams or misfires in my limited firing.
