Need input for custom 1911 grips

Hey gents,
I'm currently deployed right now so my internet time is limited. I'm doing a Wilson Combat build while I'm over here. I want to get some custom grips for it that compliment the pistol and look classy too. I'm looking at some gray buckeye burl grips i saw on an old post from SRT1. I like the look of those and I think the color would go well with an all black clean 1911 that I'm having built. I would like to tastefully incorporate some aspect of MOLON LABE into them but I'm not much of an artist. Does anyone have any ideas or examples of something like this? Thanks for the help.

Try contacting Esmeralda, she does a lot of handwork and had a nice set of grips with Veritas on one and Aquitas on the other. Her address is www.esmeralda.cc

I read that post and thought, "Clearly that guy has not seen Hakan Pek's work." then I clicked the link. ;) I actually have a set of his in desert ironwood for sale, $75. PM me for pics. Plain, so you would have to find someone to alter them for the logo if you want.

Check out Sarge, a lot of his work is special order, not certain about designs though.

Another member here, Olympus (http://brownscustomgrips.webs.com/)at Brown's custom grips, makes some nice stuff at good prices. His are $50 to $60 not engraved.
There are a ton of engravers. Hand or laser engraved. I had good luck with a set of rosewood lamanate (he will engrave your grips & real woods too) laser engraved from gungrips (http://www.gungrips.net/).net. He had the best price for my double custom design on my Beretta. Mine were $100 complete, similar price on submitted grips. He should be able to add your Spartan and MOLON LABE surrounding it or below, he is the only laser engraver I found in a year of searching that will custom design without charging a ton of cash. Custom images are the same price (or close) to his standard images.

Unless you are set on the Buckeye, look at a lot of woods. I found that contrasting colors have grown on me. Really unusual colors or patterns really set off a custom grip or pistol. Everyone has grey, brown, black & white. ("no bark" Antler, bone & Ivory are all I would bother with in white. They do make a striking background for engraving...)
And if you have daughters this might happen...

Come back safely without the wood's namesake.

I am biased. When it comes to classy stocks for a 1911 I have only one choice.

I second that. You get top quality craftsmanship and top quality materials. You also get a back story of the maker who is quite interesting. If you're having a 1911 built, I'm sure you'd appreciate that if you ever handed it down to your kids.

If you're into something a bit different, try ordering 1911 grips from half way around the world.
This guy has gotten superlative reviews on this forum:
