does anyone know if you can use the rcbs powder flow in place of the lee powder dispenser or if I can just funnel charge my brass removing the lee unit all together?

I have heard primer loading and powder charging to be issues on this press. but sincei got it so cheap figures i would give it a try

If you want to just funnel charge on your Pro 1000, you will need the funnel adapter on top of the case flare die (it comes with each Lee die set, so you may have it on the die already - look for it). If not, it's $2.50 from Lee or check with local stores (select caliber from the link and click on "Serv. Parts" then "Funnel Adapter") - http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/catalog/browse.cgi?1283710744.2647=/html/catalog/dies-pistol.html

mdp75, check out this 9 part video on complete Pro 1000 disassembly, cleaning and reassembly. This guy kinda goes to the extreme (for one, I do not take off the top of the press), but the videos are comprehensive and covers all areas, including priming issues.

The powder measure and primer feeder both work just fine on the pro 1000. If you have an instruction sheet with the press just read it and start cranking out ammo, but if you don't have the instructions, get them before attempting to use it or you will have problems.

Wow, Mom should be taken out to dinner in a fine restaurant for that gift.
