I have no idea that this phrase means: "A campaign to shop a gunman working with crime-stoppers." Maybe it's one of those "separated by a common language" things.
from The Citizen (Goucester)
NOW WE MUST AIM FOR A GUN FREE CITY
Today The Citizen is backing calls to sweep guns off the streets of Gloucester. Guns in the wrong hands are a menace to society and an evil this city can do without.
Crimes involving firearms have rocketed in the city and it has to stop. Tomorrow night Gloucester City Council will call for a concerted campaign to free the city’s streets of firearms once and for all. We support the call 100% and today launch our five point charter to make Gloucester a gun free city.
Ban replica guns from sale in Gloucester
Education programme in schools aimed at discouraging gun use.
A gun amnesty for fake and real guns in the city.
Zero tolerance policing on new gun laws. replica and fake guns.
A campaign to shop a gunman working with crime-stoppers.
But we can only make this work with the backing of our readers, the police, the city council and all the other agencies which are in a position to make a difference to gun crime in Gloucester.
