Wow, this little number can flat-out shoot just like the original owner (you know him around here as Austinite) told me!

Today was my first opportunity to use a decent rest to shoot at a small bullseye for groups: 1/2 MOA or so at 100yds with relative ease, and might have been even better if I was better. But, hey, shooting off a pillow rolled-up in a Mexican blanket's gotta count for something! I have a 4x Nikon scope on it that has fairly thick crosshairs, so making the red dot disappear was my cue that I was on-target.

This little gem has my buddy wanting one too, as he has recently completed a build on an M4 in the same cartridge. My favorite thing to do with my Mini-Mauser is to blow-out soda cans dangling from strings at 100yds. I think I had a higher% but he was faster obviously; his 1x holo-sight dot at 100yds pretty much covers the target. At 200 yds it was a 1 to 1 1/2 MOA, with the group dropping about 2 1/2". All this with Russian Barnaul 123-gr ammo! High-power plinking just got a lot cheaper!

On a similar note, my '56 Garand turned in a darn-near MOA perforrmance with some commercial 180-gr Federal power-shoks and a tuned-down gas tube plug. With a 5" target it appeared just narrower than the front sight post, so I was pleasantly surprised when I took a look through the spotting scope and saw a nice group (if a little right of dead center).

A cool breeze in Austin, Texas and even a spattering of rain made it a fine morning indeed!

Welcome to the side of the light! I love my 527M, great shooting rifle! I want to eventually get the Redfield 2-7 scope for it, but it works well with this Bushnell on it.

Great looking and great shooting carbine!
