New CC choices

Hey yall I am in the process of buying a new concealed carry handgun and I have two choices. I am set on these I just can't decide which one. I am about 6'1" and 150pds so that that into consideration. The choices are the Glock 21 and the Glock 30. I know the size differences and specs I would really like to buy the 21 for hd and the 30 everyday carry. But I really need to limit this purchase to one gun. Is the 21 really that concealable. In winter I think it would be fine but in summer it get's really hot here and I just don't know how it would conceal with a tshirt and shorts. What would yall buy in my situation? Thanks guys I really appreciate the help.

30. Don't question it, just buy it. The 21 is a monster.

30 for me, it's set up the same as my 26, grip tape from talon, and front night site. I call "them the twins". I have big hands and have no problem with either pistol without the extensions. The grip tape makes all the difference for me. It sticks to my hand. I shoot the smaller pistols better also, I never was able to fire a full sized colt, as well as a commander. Everyone is different. The 19 to 26 size is the perfect size pistol for me. Even 2-3 inch snubbies I shoot well, not so much their larger 6 inch cousins.

Get the 30 and carry it and buy extended mags to throw in it for HD.
So all you need to do when going from ccw too HD is swap mags.

I owned a G20 10mm and there was no way i could conceal that monster in the summer, The winter i could tho.

Get the 30! Like DasFriek said, buy some G21 mags for home defense and for your persoanl carry backup mag. Carry the G30 with the 10 round mag and carry the 13 round mag for backup. ( O by the way, the G30 is still HYOOOGE for concealed carry. I carry mine when I can.)

Well I may just get the 21 and open carry. I don't really want all of the drama but it is my right! I just need to go to my ffl and handle them some more I guess before I make my final decision. Thanks yall and any more input would be much appreciated.

It's too bad your limiting yourself to those two model Glocks. If you are looking for a multipurpose platform in a single firearm, the Sig P250 is an excellent choice. The SigP250 is completely modular. You can pop out the entire trigger mechanism and pop it into an entirely different sized frame with an entirely different size upper half. You can even change calibers as well. You could start with a model in the subcompact .45acp configuration and later on, just buy the upgrade kit make it a full-size for home defense. The possible configurations are nearly endless.

Own both, if I had to choice one it would be the 30. Does everything the 21 does in a smaller package. You can use the 21 mags if you desire.

I am a little bigger than you are and I own a 21sf. I don't normally try to cc the 21. I CC a Glock 27 with a 357sig conversion barrel. It hides very well. The full sized 21 doesn't hide very well for me unless it is coat weather. In Savannah, Ga. it is rarely coat weather. OCing the 21 is a viable option, but it limits me with where I can go. In Ga. any establishment can ask a patron to leave if they are carrying a weapon. If they don't leave they can/will be charged with trespassing and will lose their firearm permit for 5 years. OUCH! This is why I carry the 27 & a TCP. If they can't see it, they won't ask me to leave. You might want to consider a smaller gun for carrying if you feel it would give you more options. The full size guns are great for PD & a lot of people OC with them. I usually stick with CCing the compact guns.

The .45 Glocks are way too fat for me to CCW. Especially in GA! The 21 is great for OC or home defense. But not CCW. Can't really get both very easy in one gun.

Maybe a 1911 Commander with slimgrips and a good holster with some cant. (Crossbreed, Ravens) But thats a whole different weapon system than the role Glocks fit.

Take a look a the Glock23 or 27 and a Crossbreed Supertuck. The .40 is plenty of power, and the 23 is only a hair thicker than a 1911. The 23 is the thickest I can go and still conceal, and use only dark shirt colors. In GA I'd want something even slimmer, like a Kahr PM9.

If you go with the 21 at least give the 21 SF a look.........your hands will thank you (same thing for the 30 SF) .
Just remember you will always have to dress around a 21 if you CC it, not so much with the 30.
