I'm in my second year of law school and I'm finishing up a class in international law.

As part of our final assignment we need to provide 5 internet links to an issue in the international community.

We've all heard the rumors about the United Nations pushing gun control on a global basis. I did some research on the issue to find web sites giving both sides but only found web sites criticizing the UN for it's attempts.

To make it short, I found lots of people hollering about preventing it but all the sites taking the UN side were at least 3 years old. I couldn't find anything more recent. I even searched the UN web site and found nothing.

So, if anyone can help me find links to these issues (on both sides of the issue) i'd be very grateful.

I'd be willing to use any other international issues that you all think might be interesting as well if someone has other ideas.

any other links that might help. The provided is good but their focus seems to be on machineguns, land mines, and weapons of mass destruction.

I've not found anything mentioning disarming civilians of their legally owned weapons even on that site.
