380 finally coming back to my world..!

My area (SE Florida) seems to be lagging behind most of yours in the return to "real-world" pricing and availability of .380ACP ammo, but the end of the lag might finally be in sight. The local Wally-World had four boxes of Remington/UMC 88-grain JHP (my Thunder's carry load) in the case, each for $31.94 (these are 100-ct boxes.) That's finally getting closer to pre-2008 prices. I saw two other guys kind of eyeballing them as I approached, but no store associates were within sight. They wandered off, though I heard them discussing coming back. I'm not really even sure that the 380 stuff is what they were looking for, but I didn't want to leave it. So, I called the store's main desk and asked for the department. A nearby phone rang, and someone appeared out of nowhere to answer it. I just told her to turn around, and I left with two of the boxes, leaving the other two in case those guys had actually wanted them. I had some more at home anyway, and the Thunder, though still the more fun gun to shoot, is not my EDC anymore since I got my PF-9..

A LGS that I went to the other day had the most .380 ammo I've seen anywhere, even before the shortage. Stacks of Remington, Fiocchi, Federal, and WWB on the shelf. Pricing was decent enough with 50 rd. boxes going for between $15.99 to $19.99. The WWB 100 rd. was $38, which while somewhat higher than WalMart, at least they had it. WalMart never gets any in, at least not at any of the 3 area stores that I go to.

Same here in CT, its everywhere and constantly on sale for about $17 for 50 of range stuff. I even repurchased a LCP after selling it last year during the drought. Its a keeper now even if the .380 ammo goes through a deppresion again which I doubt will happen since this caliber is becoming more and more popular.

I'm well stocked and don't shoot much of my carry ammo, so when reliable .380 range fodder can be had for under $10 for a box of 50 I'll be interested - until then I'll just keep waiting and shooting less often!

I just picked up some Magtech for $15.95/box of .380acp and have found Magtech's ammo to be the most accurate range ammo for my Glock 21 .45acp and Ruger LCP .380acp.

I love this Magtech ammo now and will be stocking it for every caliber because it is just the most accurate stuff I have ever shot and its extremely affordable, give it a try sometime.
