Beretta 390. Long history of dead nuts reliability. I have 2. Many thousands of rounds without any kind of failure. These are available as the 3901 from Bass Pro for $569.00. They can also be found on Gunbroker for about the same price. In my opinion this is the best value available in the US on an auto loading shotgun today. You would never be sorry for this purchase.

I will strongly second the Berretta 390. I have a 390 from Walmart that is dead on reliable. I think new they run $557.00 now. My local Walmart had one in the rack just last week. I've never had a problem with it and would buy another one without hesitation.

Another vote for the Wal Mart 390 or the Bass Pro 3901.
I have that 390 in 12 and 20 (discontinued), and they're great guns. No frills, but made as well as a more expensive Beretta inside.

Ironic ya'll recommend a Beretta, my sister has one and willin to do some trading or sellin but I haven't got a model number off of it yet but she did have to send it back three times after she bought it (from wal-mart) to get it straighten out. some other local folks around me had negative things to say about Beretta shotguns so i'm kinda torn right now.

The Mossberg 930 is the best value on the market right now.
It's reliable and easy to clean........
Oh and it's at least $100 less than the Beretta 390 (which is a great gun, BTW)...

MolleMan- FWIW I believe the "problems" with the Wal Mart 390 are from the sticky cosmoline-like stuff Beretta uses as a preservative. A dousing of Kroil wherever there are moving parts (trigger group especially) will fix this. From personal experience.
Wal-Mart employees don't know anything about guns, generally, and a lot of people who buy these may not, either. So they bring them home, load them, and they don't cycle well. This is no surprise to someone who is used to Beretta semiautos and knows to clean them thoroughly and deeply first -- but there's nothing in the instructions that makes this as clear as it should be.
