I've been using a Springfield Omega for the past couple of years. It's got the ported barrel from the factory and I've never noticed "blinding" affect while shooting it. I wear hearing protection while I hunt so I can't say that it's any louder either.

This was purchased for hunting only, and since I usually spot and stalk on my way to an from the stand

Witness
Colt Delta Elite
Glock 20

The Witness was the only one I can say that I actually liked. Unfortunately Tanfoglio's quality issues and EAA's lovely customer service keep me from owning one. I've moved on to other things and forgotten the 10mm (for now).

I was thinking of doing this with my 21sf, but the barrel manufacturer told me that I needed to change out the extractor along with the barrel & mags. Is this what you did, or were you able to use the 45acp extractor thats on the 21 already?

A G29 and a G20SF LWD long slide with a 6" KKM barrel. In order to break in this build, the rails and slide needed to be "wet" with oil unlike a couple drops on a factory gun. At the range, I pass around the gun and everyone is amazed and the reasonable recoil and accuracy. I love the look on the face of a 1911 shooter when he hits inside the "9" ring!!

S&W 1006 for fun at the range and a 1066 to carry. The 10mm is a reloaders dream. MY buddy calls it a .40 caliber .357.......what more could you want?????? Both guns have been flawless and are a pleasure to shoot.

there's a thread on this on 10mmtalk. apparently many folks have already paid to pre-order the new bren ten, and so far have just gotten the run around from the owner of the company. he keeps pushing back the availability date without a valid explanation. people are already upset and asking for refunds.

Once the extractor is changed out does the 21 now become a 10mm exclusively? Or, will it still allow you to change barrels back to a 45acp and shoot both 45 & 10 out of the gun? I ask because this is the only 45 that I currently have and I've stock piled a significant amount of 45acp ammo for it (between 2K-3K).

I've had a Colt Delta Elite since the eighties and it's still rather pristine. Wanting to keep it that way, I bought a Glock 29 for my woods and vacation duties and semi-retired the Delta. You can't ugly up a Glock by banging it up in the woods. Double Tap 200 gr XTP.

Changing extractors on a Glock is a very simple operation that requires no tools.

I was told by Kevin McIntire of KKM Precision in an e-mail that a Glock 20 extractor will not work in a Glock 21.
You can swap extractors between the 9mm and .40 pistols, but evidently not between 10mm and .45acp.

The folks at Glock upgraded the extractor and it is a good idea to change it out..Simple, you are not using a 20 extractor, you are using the upgraded 21:)

I sent in several of my Glocks to be gone through and up graded, only cost to me was original shipping from my end to them...

They Fedxed back to me overnight, no cost to me, took about 2 weeks time all items I sent...

One they really went through was my 1988 17L that I really like...Came back very smooth and with several items replaced...I am a firm believer the product is a good one, folks who make them are very honorable...

I have the std slide for the 17 also, along with the 22 conversion kits, made by other companies...Still shoot them, all quality products...

2nd Gen Glock 20, I absolutely love this gun with a passion, I don't know what it is about it but that's just how it be.

I just stumbled upon this G20 by complete chance and actually had no desire to stock any new calibers that I didn't already own but I am very happy that I made the exception and am now a proud stocker of 10mm.

BTW, this all being a little strange coming from a guy who despises the 40 caliber, comparable to someone who hates the .38spl but loves the .357mag, just a thought.

@ FMJ, just curious, why a 2nd Gen as opposed to a 3rd Gen? I feel the same way I was just wondering what you found more appealing about the 2nd Gen G20.

My Glock coffee mug rocks a 2nd Gen G20 which makes it a little more special to me.

A nice condition S&W 1006 caught my eye about 6 weeks back at a gunshow, and I brought it home. I don't particularly care for the deecocker or DA only of the the other Smith 10mm variants, so the 1006 with the standard DA/SA works for me. Initially it had a glitch with every mag, having one round that failed to extract, so it went and recently returned from S&W, and they replaced the extractor and spring (at my expense; oh well:(). Range work resulted with a gun that can group into about 6-8" at 50 yards if I do my job, and only had one extraction glitch at the beginning, but seemed to go away. I lubed the gun with a heavy tan rifle grease I use on M1 Garands and such, and this seemed to create a better cycling. I bought this S&W 10mm to go with one I already had, a custom Caspian 10mm done by SDM Fabricating years ago, so I was already loading for the 10mm. The custom Caspian is a precision instrument, but I thought a stainless "utility" 10mm was a good idea, too. I have often thought that a pair of Glock 29's or 20's would be the perfect fighting handguns, in the "zone", for bodyguard use, or when you just KNEW you'd have to fight and be your own backup, but I haven't bought or used those models of Glocks yet.

Smith 610 6.5" now. Thinking about having the barrel shortened to max legal IDPA spec.

Used to have a Kimber Eclipse Custom II in 10mm, sold it though. Beautiful gun, but making it run w/ hollowpoints was a constant challenge. Plus, I just prefer revolvers..

It would be far more suitable in submachine gun then in a handgun.

I think it is pretty well suited for both. I would imagine an MP5 or Uzi in 10mm would be quite a thing. I wish Kel-Tec would make a Sub2000 in 10mm. Mine is a G20, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The easy conversion to .40 adds a lot of value for me as well.

Just finished building up a 10mm AR15 using Olympic Arms' 10mm upper. Basically stripped it down for the barrel and bolt goodies and built it up with a lo-pro flat top upper and other tasty goodies. I posted a thread with pics over in the rifle section.

This one will share ammo with my Delta Elite mentioned earlier.

Colt Delta Elite SS. I've been considering (wanting, really, really wanting) a Glock 20SF. I am a little intrigued by the G29SF, though for the longer site radius and mag capacity. It would be mostly for hunting. Any experienced Glock 10mm owners that can help me decide?

I think the G29 is a more flexible system.I have a G29SF You can use it for carry with 10 round mags and then convert it for either HD or a hunting/woods gun with G20 mags and A & G mag sleeves and a Storm Lake 4.48" barrel. You can also shoot .40 S&W or 357Sig with a conversion barrel It's easier to make a G29 like a G20 than it is to make a G20 like a G29. Go for the G29SF. I don't think you'll regret it.
