Help Me Pick a New Color Scheme for My Sig 226

September 17, 2010, 11:13 PM
Hello all,

Well, the sig is getting sent in to be refinished. But the good news is I can make it something other than all black at the same time, and I have an olive drab fetish.

Problem is I can be terribly indecisive. So what do you think? Two tone? Reverse two tone? what about the controls? What about barrel and controls OD with the rest black?

Open for ideas!

Black slide with olive drab frame ... like the Ed Brown Special Forces ( shown in the bottom right photo. Kind of looks like my P220 Combat which now has black Hogue grips.

Olive Drab fetish is a dangerous obsession, I have seen many people once they change one gun to it feel they must all be changed to match.

If its already black keep it that way, if not make it that way, make sure all your others match.

the 700 the sig shares a case with has an OD stock in the mail :D

very nice looking pistol 1858, maybe I should just go reverse two tone after all. looks classy.

Not an AICS by any chance? Not only does that Combat look good (better with Hogue grips too), it's a shooter let me tell you. Then again, all five of the SIGs in our house are shooters so nothing new there!!

actually the stock is HS precisions:
OD with black web. I wanted the same grip I have on my rifle now, but really need adjustable LOP and cheek. and I got a great deal.

but I think sitting in the case with an OD sig would really bring it all together :) I'm real happy with the way my sig shoots too, so happy I sold my glock. just fits my hand better I guess. went from just barely 'on paper' to palm sized groups in a simple switch.

Apart from this rust stuff, very pleased.

Is it a fashion statement? What color to you wear most often? If you're in olive drab alot then I say go with that color.

Everyone knows that black is slimming! :)

kis2, here's a better photo of the P220 Combat ... the frame is much closer to brown (flat dark earth) than green .... it's still a shooter though!! :D

Purple slide, pink frame, blue magazines.

Hey, it's a Sig, it will still shoot fine.

ABTOMAT, there is a person I know very well who would *love* that gun. How can I make it happen?

Black nitron finish would be nice, boring but nice. If it doesn't have tritium night sights then add those, maybe a treaded barrel for a can.
Refinish it any color you want, as long as it's black.

SIGs look best in nasty, evil-looking black IMO. But I might be able to be talked into a reverse two-tone, silver frame, black slide, black grips.

very cool pistols guys (except the hello kitty ;) )

the sig developed some rust, and since it's getting a fresh coat anyway, I figure why not give it a new look.

I think OD reverse two tone is on top right now

I also liked the other pistols, but don't be slamming Hello Kitty! For a female who may be young and kind of gun hesitant, it might be just the right gun. However, it's around 2K to do it, having checked on it myself. I would be afraid that if I altered a finish on my guns to something other than NIB, I'd have to do all of them. This virus seems to operate that way for me. Hope the OP has gotten some ideas from the nice pics.
