Well I just bought a new Springfield XDM 45 ACP. I swore I was done with 45ACP, but then I saw this beauty. Everything about this gun impresses me. I can't wait to get it out to the Range. If you have one, how do you like it. I haven't been this excited about a gun for a long time.

That is one mean looking pistol:eek:

Sold my XDM 9 and swore off poly's but that pic has me rethinking that policy!

I have an XD9 fullsize and 3.8.

Once these start hitting the used market i'll snag one for sure. The XDm is an amazing pistol. I really respect the design and quality of the XDm's....

The nice thing about it is that it comes with everything I need to deploy it. Even the case is something else. And, I traded some stuff I'll never shoot again for it. All the cash I had to come up with was $53. :)

I'm in the same boat. I thought I was done with .45 ACP until I fired a few magazines through this beauty.

This may very well be my next purchase.

Congratulations! I expect a full range report soon!:)

I tried one when they first came out. I bought it the same day. I did have the sights replaced with TruGlo TFO night sights. At the same time I had the smith smooth any rough parts in the action. That probably was not needed untill I had shot the gun for a while but he charged under $30 as long as he was doing the sights anyway. The trigger is now just over five pounds with a feel much like my DA revolvers. The gun shoots right with my Ed Brown and Kimber Ultra CDP. With it's high capacity, and safety features, it has now become my primary house gun. I am very impressed with my first polymer pistol.

I have a XDM in 45 with the Bi-Tone / Stainless. And MAN what a pistol! I cannot praise that weapon enough. I was tearing the 4" bullseye out of the target at 25 meters with 230gr Winchester Target. But I did throw a few shots because I didnt have a way to change the backstrap and my trigger pull was a little awkward with the small strap.

When all the fundamentals are applied it will definatly reinforce the fact that it is a match grade weapon. Its smooth, its predictable and the recoil isn't bad at all either. Im just waiting for more accesories to come out for it. I wouldn't mind adding a compensator; that would make it one hell of a speed compitition pistol  .

I've enjoyed my XDm 9 and my new XDm 45. the first thing I did was change the grip to the smallest size (no small hand jokes please:o). Shot great right out of the box. In a year or so I expect them to release the XDm 45 3.8. Depending on how I shoot it, that will probably replace my Glock as my everyday carry.

my two cents.

I shot one a few weeks ago and I really liked it. If I were in the market for another full size .45acp this would be at the top of the list.

XDM 40, XDM 9, and XDM 9 3.8 with SS Slide, and I just ordered a XDM 45 with SS slide and night sights. These are great guns, reliable, accurate, superb warranty, and darn good looking. Congratulations on your new acquisition. You will not be disappointed.

I have XDm 9 and love it. The 19 round mag will brake you on ammo.

Well, I got some ammo and found some time to out to the desert in the sagebrush to shoot a little. Here are a couple of targets. This first target is of my first shots out of my new gun...

This next target is my 45 but also my LCP (six rounds) in the top right corner. Some of the other holes are from previous shooting I did.

I think I was not using enough index finger on the trigger while shooting my 45. I'll need to make some adjustments for next time.

everything you need to deploy it? that holster is beyond useless, and the mag holder is mildly useless.

OK Big Bill,

That's enough. Please, no more pics, no more descriptions, no more how great it shoots . . . . . . enough :neener:

Congrats, I think the XDM45 is an outstanding weapon. I think I have XDM envy :cuss:

Then I'll post some, :neener:

I've got to tell ya I was always of the mind set that I would never own a tupperware gun, but was I wrong! The first thing I noticed shooting it was that is was surprisingly soft shooting, however the grip was small. I have odd bear-paw hands and I had to swap out the backstrap to the largest size at the range.

After the swap, the gun felt like my Colt Combat elite with the arched housing only thicker. I brought an assortment of Hollow Point ammo just in case it didn't like something. I WASTED MY MONEY! It shot Speer GD, Hornady XTP+P, and Corbon JHP+P just like it was FMJ ammo. And as for accuracy, well look at this target from 14 yards:

Above is a CORBON JHP

I had it loaded to 13+1 and I can only see 11, maybe 12 holes. Which means that 2 to 3 rounds went through the same holes. I shot a total of 310 rounds on my first range trip, 60 of which were hollow points and the rest were Magtech FMJ and Winchester FMJ (the light ones that look like JSWCs). After all that I was amazed at how soft shooting it was, It makes my Defender seem like a torture device.

Not a jam

I could not be happier with this gun. My only complaint is that my Colt is going to get lonely!

I bought the XDm45 after reading so many positive reviews here.

mesinge2 - great shooting! I hope to get good sometime soon. BTW, I also liked how soft shooting my gun is. WOW, it's much easier to shoot than my LCP! My shooting was all off hand. I figure that's how I'll always be shooting it. It's lighter to carry loaded than my CZ 75BD.

BTW, my targets were only at 10 yards.

Gotta love elitist attitudes that everybody has all this money to buy all this new equipment...

The gear included with the springfields serves a GREAT purpose!... it gets people started. Let them get started with it, let them then save up for that nice belt, nice holster, mag pouch... but in the meantime, if it gets someone carrying.... it sounds good to me.

Gotta love elitist attitudes that everybody has all this money to buy all this new equipment...Ah heck! Maybe he just had a bad experience. My accessories work just fine for me, but then I'm not really that picky anyway. I'm just happy with what I've got.

FWIW, I'm one of those guys that will buy several Benchmade, Spyderco, ESEE, etc., knives and then carry a S&W or Rough Rider. (I wouldn't even consider anything more expensive, even though I have the money.) And, if someone gave me a Mercedes, I'd sell it and get a Ford or Chrysler product and give the extra money to my kids or church.
