Hi High Roaders,

The Harrisburg show was all I hoped it would be. Within 5 minutes of entering the door I ID'ed 5 or 6 items I wanted to keep track of as possible purchases. Of course the reality was I might buy 1 or 2 but, with choices, good choices are made. I walked the floor for 3 hours, had a lot of informative conversations, saw things I've either never seen before or never noticed.

Highlights?
A $1200 Colt 1949 pocket like one I picked up last year for $200.
Two full auto Tommy guns at $15K and $18K.
New gas powered AirSoft repeating SA Cowboy type revolvers. Pricey at $150-$180 but very nice.
Endless examples of collectible C&R and milsurp pistols and rifles.
Knives, mags, parts, holsters, etc., to delight the biggest kid among us.

I walked out the door with an extremely pretty nickel plated Hopkins and Allen breaktop revolver .32 S&W 5 shot Police Safety model, circa 1902-1914. Hardly a blemish on it and tight as a drum. Unique design three action trigger, DA/SA and an ingenous internal safety latch that rises to block the hammer if the trigger is not fully pulled. These oldies amaze me!

I also picked up two Beretta 21A 22lr mags to give me 6 total for a PA Speed Steel match in two weeks and a 7.65/.32acp mag for an FN Browning 1922 .32 I bought a few weeks ago that came with the wrong (9mm Kurz) mag. Life is good!

I went to the same show yesterday, with the intent of only buying accessories, no firearm purchases for me allowed. Surprisingly, I resisted several very nice deals, such as a mossburg marine magnum for 270, or a saiga 20ga for 189. I did find colt 20 round mags for my ar at the price of 14.25. I bought six, they all look pretty decent, and the spring seems rather strong. they did come with the steel follower, so ill reserve judgement until I get a chance to test them. All in all, a very nice gunshow indeed.

When's the next one there?

Went to the one in H-burg this past May.

Drove all the way down there from here in metro NY. Worth it though.

When's the next one there?

Sometime in March, I believe. I'll be heading to that one... this one was just too close to Christmas... the budget had already been stretched past the breaking point by seasonal expenses. I should be pretty much recovered in three months :D
