Kimber Ultra Carry II or Para Slim Hawg?

From searching I found a lot of praise for both pistols but I only found some negative experiences with the Para. It was in terms of jamming with certain ammo types, the durability of the finish when subjected to EDC use and the manufacturer's support for their products. I heard of a pin malfunction of some sort from the Nite Hawg, but it's not the pistol I'm considering and I don't know if it applies to the Slim Hawg.

Kimber seems to refer to this directly on their web site when detailing their extractor bevels:

Machined bevels at both the front and rear of the Ultra Carry ejection port ensure ejecting brass reliably clears, avoiding jams common to other brands.

I see the bevels are not as pronounced on the Para or do not seem to be...

Does anyone have ownership experience with either or both of these guns that can provide some insight?

I have the Kimber Ultra Carry II. It is my favorite carry weapon. It is a joy to shoot, accurate, and with the best trigger I have ever experienced in all the guns I have shot and the ones I owned. After I switched to the Wilson Combat Magazine It has functioned perfectly. No FTF or FTE.

Sold my POS Para and bought a Colt Defender . Never regretted it . Friends don't leave friends buy Para's . Get the Kimber or a Colt Defender. Their the best choice

My brother had a para for about 2 weeks. It was a $1,000 gun that the front half of the slide broke off of after 150 rounds of factory ammunition. Even though it was an obvious flaw they would not replace it. My brother went through the LGS he bought it from. They actually sell a lot of guns and deal with all major brands. It took them months to get Para to replace it and the owner was so ticked off by the end of it all that he said he would not carry Para products anymore. The last time I had talked to him they had sold the last few in their stock and the spot in the case once filled by Para now has been taken over by additional Kimbers and Colts.

So I will massively agree with previous posts obviously. A compact 1911 is next on the list and it will be a defender, kimber or springfield for me.
