Colt Agent Value ?

The following are images of a Colt Agent revolver with the aluminum frame and flat black finish. There are no papers or box. The serial number is in the W28 range. It appears to have been fired at some point (has not been fired since acquired by family member in 1994). More or less pocket carried and sock drawer kept. Need to ascertain a value, thank you in advance for your replies.

You might want to take a look at Gunbroker for similar revolvers and see the buy it price or what auctions actually sold at but $450-500 would NOT be out of line here in Colorado.

This also belongs in Revolvers or Firearms research... let's move it to revolvers.

I'll give you $400 right now! These are my favorite carry guns, period. I MIGHT cut down the hammer spur, at the most as I have never seen one that did not have a superb single action and a controlable double action that just keeps getting better.
I fired the first one I had in the 70s literally thousands of times with the (free) 110 Grain +p+ treasury load and yes the frame stretched after this thunderous abuse. I learned to shoot the little sucker tho! Ive had three others since.I still have a sweet one, a a CHP son has the other one that I had Birdsong T on and the hammer cut 16 years ago.
Your gun is worth $400-$600 depending on the location an market. I cannot think of a $600 NEW gun I'd trade for it tho.....;)

I bought my 1974 blue finished Cobra (same gun as the Agent with different length grips) with moderate holster wear for $425 early this summer. Anywhere between $400 and $500 would be reasonable depending on your area and market.

Not to burst your bubble, but here in central AL your later model Colt Agent
would only bring approximately $329 - 350 at most. Most of the old geezer's
like myself prefer the older, deep blued model Colt D-frames; or in some
cases, original factory nickel Detective Specials and/or Cobra's as made
before 1973~! :scrutiny: ;)

I appreciate all the replies. Yes dependent on the region firearms prices tend to vary. At least I have a realistic expectation of value/market potential.

Thank you:)

nice Illinois I think the $400-$500 would get you sold (but you might have to find an older guy like myself to buy it since we remember them ;) )...I see such things priced much higher but they sit and sit...Gander Mountain near me had a nice 1st Issue Cobra listed for $699 until yesterday...sat for almost a year...
