can any one confirm the AK 47 in question was indeed
(fully automatic) or just the medias ignorance ?

I didn't see anywhere on that page where it stated the AK-47 was fully automatic or a "machine gun" They did call it an "assault rifle" but that doesn't mean much. I'm going to just take a wild guess and say it was a semi-auto, but, who knows?
