It's still around. Apparently young Davy was lovestruck and needed a courting house (house to bring a bride into) so he traded his first rifle for a log cabin. The gun was was traded once more and has been held by the same family since. It is presently on display at the East Tennessee Historical Society in Knoxville, TN. Admission is free so if in Knoxville, drop in.
