Boss is retiring in several months and the group has pretty much decided a pistol for CCW would be nice going away present. Hate to hand it over at the ceremony in a plastic factory box...

Ideas???

Take it to one of those places that make shadowboxes.

Go to hobby craft store. they have different sizes of wooden boxes ( think of cigar boxes made of wood). You will have to refinsh it, maybe put the hinges and hasp on but they turn out nice. Thy usually have felt for the inside, if not go to a fabric store and styrofoam, soft egg shape foam ( like comes in pistol cases today) glue and stuff is available.

Of course allow for inside finished measurments, and write down measurment of firearm...somebody I know * ahem* eyeballed one too small once upon a time...:)

use some nice black or red felt, it takes some time to make it perfectly, but it would be so nice!

There are places on the internet that will make them as well; do a search on "custom gun case"

Sorry about using a non common term BD. A shadowbox is normally presented to a retiring LE or military person. It's a display case made of wood with a glass face. In it are all the decorations, awards, duty stations, collar devices for ranks held, etc.etc. that the retiree achieved/earned/attained. It is normally also presented with a folded flag encased along with the doodads. Shops that make plaques and trophies can make you a presentation case easy.
