I'll soon be buying one or, perhaps, two holsters for a full sized 1911. I am still working on the inside the waistband, outside, or both decision. Has anyone had a chance to wring out a Ross holster, ideally in extended daily use?

A guy that I hang around with (see him 2-3 days a week) bought a Ross IWB holster for hils full sized 1911. He tried it for about a week before he decided he had to get something else. He ended up with a Galco Summer Special that he "lives with", but is still searching for an IWB holster that he "likes".

Had one of their OWB rigs for my P7M8. A very fine, rugged holster for the money.

"Had" "for the money."

Tamara, is that a Yea, or a Nay?

"Had" as in the holster went away with the P7. "For the money" as in "despite costing much less than a comparable Galco, this thing is made of equally heavy (or heavier) hide and stitched as nicely." :)

Sorry, I forget that there are some among us who have fluid collections. I have parted with only two: one the burglar or his customer still has, the other I gave to my best friend.

Ross Leather holsters are manufactured in South Africa (as in not made in the Good Old USA) They are distributed from Bradenton,FL. (where I live)
My only experience with one was an IWB model that I had for one of my guns. It was indeed a rugged holster but it was too bulky for an IWB holster, the leather way too thick and the plastic "J" hook for the belt just didn't work for me. Out of a five star rating, I would give it one and a half stars.

I've got two. One for my Kimber, and one for my Ruger P95. Both are OWB Yaqui slide. I've had them since February of this year. The 1911 has been on my side for about 90% of the time. I bought them strickly for range holsters because they were 25 bucks or so. But now they'er daily wearers.
