I recently purchased this 29-3 w/6 inch barrel and the three Ts. Target trigger, hammer and grips. It was manufactured in Jan 1983. It is in absolutely pristine condition. Not a scratch or wear mark anywhere on the blueing or the wood. Just the faint hint of a turn line. I really cannot tell if it has been fired. Granted it didn't come with a box or papers but for $330 plus tax ($355.50) I simply could not pass it up. I think I got a good deal. Just had to share.

Sounds like a great buy. Now at that price have the sherrif run the serial number to see if its a badddd gun. And then take it hunting.

how in the world did you manage that without visiting the "home boy shopping network"?
(i assume since you paid tax it was probably legit)

That's a great deal. And you're gonna love the thing. Got my 29-3 around 1985. I've put thousands of rounds through it, probably 30% magnums and 70% 44 specials. Shows a bit of wear but it's still tight and accurate.

What a deal. Was this something you found hiding at a gun shop, at a show, on the internet, or what?

Wow. What a bargain. I saw a 29-3 today for $860 at http://www.dallasguns.com/index.asp?type=43. I would love a model 29 if I could get one at the price you paid.

Buckeye8:

I actually found it at a pawn shop. I don't think they knew what they had since they thought the assembly number in the yoke above the model number was the serial number. I had to show them the serial number was under the grips on the bottom of the grip frame. One of those things of being at the right place at the right time.

And I thought I got a pretty decent deal on a mint 29-2 4" for $700 recently (4" 29s are usually priced around $800-$900 around here).

I'd say that was a friggin' steal! I'm very surprised that a Pawn Shop wouldn't know what they had. I'm guessing this PS didn't really specialize in firearms? I do here about that sort of thing from time-to-time. They look at fine old revolvers like that one and think "worthless old man gun" and price it accordingly. Their loss, your gain.
