if you want to read a good book on the Bill Of Rights get THE BILL OF RIGHTS by Akhil Reed Amar - (Akhil Reed Amar, Professor, Yale Law School)
http://www.givemeliberty.org/convention/AGENDA.htm
Page 46 thru 63 talks about the 2A - what he calls the military amendment

Consider this another STRONG recommendation for this book - the whole thing. It is VERY important.
In some ways, it's a stronger re-hash of ideas first floated by Stephen Halbrook in "That Every Man Be Armed" (1984).
Interested parties should read both books. Ultimately, it's Amar's book that will one day have more effect on the courts.

Agree 100% - WHOLE book is great - just trying to keep it gun related :D
has some excellent info to use in "discussions" with the antis re: state vs individual, the meaning of militia, the structure of the 2A, the definition of "well regulated".......etc, etc covers all the arguments

What Amar's book is really about is the 14th Amendment...and if y'all don't think THAT is gun related, either this book or Halbrook's work will set you straight in a hurry.

It's a very good book, and don't just read the sections on RKBA. I use it in my school work. I highly reccommend it.
