Man, it seems like everyone is getting into this business. Is it the military contracts?
Makes you wish these companies would get together and lobby to end the tax we peasants have to pay. :(

I think it's more law enforcement. A city can't have a really tactical SWAT team without suppressed weapons.

at 17 ounces, that's a pretty heavy supressor.
What did they do? Take a flashlight tube and add baffles?

I don't mind the tax. I mind the registration with the ATF.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't CA have a law prohibiting transfer of title II firearms made by in-state C2s to anyone but law enforcement agencies? No big loss, as I doubt Surefire is offering anything in their suppressor line that's better than what other C2s are offering.

I don't know: I don't any experience with Surefire suppressors, but if you read their stuff on this one and believe it, it is significantly better.

Doesn't matter anyhow. All of these articles are just so a bunch of people can go "hey check this out" and possibly forward that information on to people in the military who can unit purchase these out of discretionary funds.
SureFire doesn't give a crap if civilians can ever buy them. All they want is the fat government contracts for their products. That's why they have come out with the rail systems as well - they can make more money selling package deals to government entities & such.

Well, gee... that seems to indicate that they have good business sense, which is good because they'll last longer. Why would they bother selling to the civilian market? They'd probably sell a few per year, not enough to make it worth their while. How many people do you know that want to buy a supressor? Hell, I don't even know many that are actively in the market for a gun, much less a supressor for a select-fire .223.

Whether you believe the hype or not, you can judge by their history that they don't do anything unless they can do it the best, regardless of the cost.

The few SF people I have ever been in contact with have all been very pro 2nd Amendment. I'm not sure if my trainer is an employee, rep or whatever (he does have an SF business card) and he's helped more people in my area get CCWs (such as myself) than I care to count. There isn't much a relatively small shop can do to change what's been on the books since 1934.

Unfortunately, due to California State Law, we are unable to sell/loan/transfer any type of suppressor to civilians.
They cannot transfer to civilians because they are inside California and California does not allow their peasants to own suppressors and for any other civilians, federal law requires them to use a dealer in their state of residence. They can transfer one to your local Class III dealer who then transfers it to you.
