At a guess, 95% of my round count is .22, 9mm, .223, and 12 gauge.

.22 is cheap and plentiful, and a great round for competing in Steel Challenge.

9mm and .223 are both accurate rounds, easy to reload, and components are reasonably priced which makes it easier to shoot more often.

12 gauge is ubiquitous, inexpensive, and there's a mind-boggling variety of ammunition in that chambering that makes it very easy to tailor your load to the application at hand.

For some reason my firearms repeat themselves. Multiple .22lrs and 12ga were discovered apon making this list. I suppose thats not such a bad situation to be in :neener:

45 and 9mm, are what I carry, I own 38,32,also but rarely fire them anymore. My rifles have been sold , but am looking towards an AK or AR in 223/556, or 308, I really would like to find which caliber is lesss costlly to shoot and still has optimal power at over 200 yards. Probablly none of those 3, maybe the 765?

Does Caliber refer to bore grove diameter - and not cartridge case name ? I like bores that take bullet dimaters of .172, .223, .224, .243.,.257,.264,.277, .308, .338, .354, .410 inches then there are shot gun bores but I only recall the .410 caliber shotgun. I would like to have all ammo cases identified by length,barrel grove diameter and Oz of water capacity as their name.

To all who have commented on the S&W 9mm Sigma pistol. Bought one some months
ago for $349.00 + taxes. One of the great features of this pistol is it came with 2
16 rnd magazines. The rebate offer got me 2 more 16 rnd magazines. To top this
off, I did have to send firearm to factory because it seemed to have too much bounce.
Everthing, S&H was free along with a 10 round mag (boo hoo). The sigma is an ex-
cellent pistol! It's accuracy at 7 yds is not unusual to create patterns of 4 shots
kissing one another. You just have to get use to the trigger. Put well over 500
rds in it. Being the "poor man's glock," it sure performs well. S&W was sued by
glock as the Sigma is a copy. S&W contiued production in spite of being sued.
22,000 Sigmas were sold to Iraq officials. I have only used 115 grains but tomarrow,
Lord willing, I will test 147 +P Georgia Arms and 147 standard Remington Golden
Sabers. Other than the bouncing problem that's now corrected, I was having an
accuracy problem that was corrected when I discovered I moved the sights off
center when playing around with Sigma. The most important thing is learning
to let the trigger return to firing positions between shots. Once developed, the
pistol can be fired as rapidly as any other pistol that has a lighter pull.

P.S.

In addition to recent comment I made of Sigma 9mm pistol, if you haven't, you might
want to try using only front sight target shooting. It's different and may work for
you better than using all 3 sights.
