I have been shooting the crap out of this thing since I got it. There were a few hiccups early on but they cleared up quickly. It's not uncommon to go well over 500 rounds without cleaning it now. But I start to get nervous and clean it anyway. It's getting to that point now but she's still easy on the eyes dirty.

At first I didn't want to shoot it because it was such a nice looking gun......but after I shot it I just couldn't put it down. My MIM filled Kimber is officially my favorite hand gun. I know there are other Kimber owners who feel the same way. I ignored the internet advice.........

You can include me in that group. I like my TEII so much that I plan on a Stainless Pro Raptor II next. Beautiful pistol by the way. Here's my TEII which has proven to be 100% reliable with Wilson Combat mags and my reloads (185gr SWC, 200gr RNFP) or factory 230gr ball ammo.

That Eclipse Custom II is gorgeous. About that internet advice, I was told 14 years ago how junkie the MIM parts were in my Classic Custom. I was told my the experts I had a seriously flawed pistol.

That was 14 years ago. Now at close to 10k rounds, carried a lot, shot nearly anything you can imagine (even fired some 255gn LSWC's through it some years ago with -0- issues) through it and guess what . . . . still have those crummy MIM parts in it. Everything is still crisp, smooth, and reliable.

Internet advice . . . . . . . .:scrutiny:

I have one I bought about ten years ago. Probably 40K down range, about 75 - 80 percent of the finish remains. Rarely shoot it these days. It resides in the match bag as a potential backup. If the Tactical Custom I had was as reliable, it would still be in my collection.

My Custom II is the best handgun I have ever owned.

I bought a Raptor last year and it is my favorite. I don't take it out as much as I should because it is so nice looking. I have about 1k through it with zero issues. It is scary accurate, much more than I am. I would buy another Kimber with no reservations. Great gun.:)

The Eclipse is my favorite model looks wise. I had one in 10mm before I got out of the caliber. IMO most of the MIM boo-hooing is over done. If it is really that big of deal just replace it if it makes you fell better. I only own semi-custom 1911s now but not because I did not like my Kimbers that Ive owned.

I've got about 3500+ rounds through my Kimber Pro CDP II and on my 3rd or 4th set of springs. I love it despite the internet rumors that it is horrible. My experience has been nothing but positive...plus Kimber sent me replacement parts free of charge while it was way out of warranty.
