this last weekend during some duck hunting my benelli nova kinda went in the tank. I have had some troubles with it and now its to the point where I need a new shotgun. I would like to have a Semi-auto and I will be using the fun for ducks geese pheasants and pretty much anything a shotgun can be used for. I would like it to be a 12 guage and not break the bank. Some guns i have looked at but dont know much about are the Winchester SX3, Franchi I-12,Browning Silver series. I am completly open to your recommendations and would like to learn a little bit more on what works. Thanks a lot!

Mossberg 930 is made in USA and different barrel can be used.
One variant comes from the factory with a long barrel and a shorter home defense barrel.

Buy American

The Wal-Mart Beretta 390 is worth a look. Under 600 bucks new, synthetic/matte, it's a viable waterfowl gun if 3" works for you, but handles and carries well enough for pheasant, at a bit under 7 1/2 lbs. Cabela's has had the similar but sleeker-styled 3901 on sale for $550 lately, also.

Haven't tried one, but purchased 19 guns for my FD's annual fundraiser the other day. Gunshop owner said he's selling A LOT of H & R Excell 12ga autos, and has yet to find a dissatisfied customer.

He could have sold us whatever he wanted, but he was happy enough with the product that we bought 2 of those instead of more expensive smoothbores (read 1100's).

Of course, none of them hold a candle to a good Winchester pump.....
