Hey folks , looking for some help finding details about a gently used Colt firearm. Such as manufacturers date , and frankly a rough estimate of value. I've been scouring google but I've come up short finding the exact model.
Box says : Model 09840BAN
Colt Officer's Ltw Ed.
45 ACP, 3.5" Barrel Stainless Steel/Teflon
Any help is appreciated.

Colt will tell you year not much else Its a LTW (light weight Alloy frame) officer Their should be several on the auction l
LTW officer was made from 1986 to 97 In good shape around 600 or little more depends on where you live . Prices run about same as the steel frame officer.

The Officer's is the most problematic with regard to functioning. Also, unless it has been replaced with a flanged plug, the recoil spring plug tends to break (it is only held in the slide by a tiny little tab) and launch the plug and spring. If possible, give it a "test drive" first.

I have 2 officers at present They aren't shot as much as my Defender but I have never had any trouble With reliability from either ( I did use one for carry before I went to Defender.) I have to wonder about the plug problem I never heard that till after I bought mine and came to internet. Might have been some but I think net has far over stated the trouble. Internet and gunboards tend to do that.
