Glock 34 Question

I recently got a great deal on a used Glock 34, and I'm thinking about putting a laser sight on it. Looking at most of the laser web sites, they specify "not for Gen 4 Glocks" on many laser models. How can I tell if I have a Gen 4 Glock 34? Nothing on the pistol says anything about it, and I have none of the original paperwork. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A pic would help.

But I don't think the G-34 is available in "Gen 4" configuration yet. A quick internet search will turn up a pic of a Gen 4 gun, so you can determine it for yourself.

You do not have a GEN4. The laser will fit fine.

Your 34 is a GEN3 BTW.

Reaper - How do you know? Is it like David E says, and they don't even make a Gen 4 model 34 yet?

Reaper - How do you know?
Because Glock only made the Tactical/Practical models (34/35) in GEN3. They were introduced in 1998; the GEN3 alterations took place in 1997~.

Have faith, young apprentice of the Glock. *waves hand*

Thanks, Reaper, that's exactly what I needed to know. Gotta laugh out of the "young" apprentice thing - the reason I'm thinking of a laser is I'm too old to see the iron sights!

The lasermax unit on my G34 tucks up nicely to the trigger guard when secured in the indexing slot. Very easy to touch the controls with either index finger........;)
