Fox reported this AM that 4 Marines were killed last night on the Tex/Mex border when their two Cobra gunships collided.
A tragic loss...I hope they were engaged in something important.

Depends on whether you believe in drug interdiction or not.

Two USMCR AH-1 Cobras beak-to-beak. Not pretty.

Hello All.

"... and as long as Old Glory still flies over the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, you will always hear that glad cry ring out to Heaven from a Grateful Nation, 'Thank God for the Marine Corps!' To God, Corps, and Country, they are: Semper Fidelis."

Rest In Peace.

I was a Cobra mechanic when I was in the Marine Corps back in the late 70's, and for a period of time was station at Camp Pendleton. I worked on AH-1J, and AH-1T models. The news is reporting that the Cobra's that crashed/collided where Super Cobra's, so what's that?

IIRC, the Super Cobra is the AH-1W model.

I read this yesterday, and it really ticked me off. I hate to see servicemen being hurt or killed (particularly Marines), but to be killed doing that... well...

Rest In Peace.

Yes, this is quite a tragedy. May they rest in peace.

So the helicoptors did actually collide? When I first saw this they hadn't listed a cause of the crash.
