does anyone know if a s&w 3914 can handle +p or maybe even federal +p+ ammo?

I carry the federal 9BPLE (115gr +P+ JHP) in my Model 910. I do however, have a wolff 18lb recoil spring in my pistol...I hate the thought of beating my aluminum frame to death! You 3914 will be able to easily handle it. Many folks that post here think that the 908/3913/3914 single stacks are the perfect single stack 9mm CCW.

My 3913, the stainless cousin of the 3914, has digested hundreds of Winchester Ranger 127 grain +P+ without a problem.

As I'm sure you are aware, shooting a steady diet of +P+ will accelerate wear, and reduce the service life of any pistol. I use the Ranger +P+ for carry, and occasional practice.

I also change out my recoil spring at 3000 rounds, and use grease on the 3913's aluminum frame, as oil does not adhere well to it. Doing these simple maintenance tasks will help minimize wear and tear.

The 3913/3914 are the finest pistols produced by S&W....IMO of course. :)

I didn't think that it would be a problem. Thanks for the help.

One more question though. My grip has recently developed a small amount of looseness. I don't see any screws that I could tighten. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?
