Whats the deal with them? Good, bad, worth the price, or just another gimmick to get your money?

I got one with my 3rd or 4th SIG, a 229 in .40. I swapped it back and forth with the original about a dozen times, Couldn't tell the difference. Sold it to my little brother for 50 bux. The extra money in my wallet made a bigger difference.

On a similar note I thought about while casting bullets one day. SIG guide rods are hollow. What if I was to fill it with lead. It would be MUCH heavier than a mercury filled one. Never got beyond the thinking about it though.

You could fill it with "GOLD" ,which is heavier than "LEAD" and probably more acceptable in some STATES. But it would still work . But I'm just being cheeky, sorry about that.

If I had a supply of gold the size of my ever growing lead stash I'd try it. Got any extra gold lying around? Just send the 24k stuff don't bother with that plated junk

Hmmmm... time for me to get back to working on that formula that turns lead into gold.

Turn Gold into Lead?? Simple!
I've been doing it for years!
Simply send me an ounce of lead, along with your check for $700.00 and I will convert it to gold and get it right back to you! :D
Happy Holidays!!

I remember a professor in the 70's who designed antennas talking about the liquid filled CB radio antennas being a rip off of the public.

I remember my father explaining hydraulic recoil, suspension, and transmission mechanisms in the 50's to me.

Now it is up to me to think.
I hear rust cracking...

Ok, the purpose of recoil mechanisms is to spread the force over time to get the peak force down to a less painful level. The Mercury capsule could have the Mercury slosh against the back of the capsule after the peak of force of the stock against the shoulder. The Mercury would not wear out or wear a hole in the capsule, so it might be an idiot proof installation.

I think to get efficiencies in suspensions, the unsprung weight is minimized. The gun weighs much more than the Mercury capsule, so the system is far from optimized.
