How many of you use both your powder drums?
How many use only one for pistol and rifle both?

I have the large cavity drum with a micrometer head installed in my Uniflow. I use it for smaller rifle cartridges like the 223 Rem.
I use a Redding 10-X measure for pistol and a Midway Indespensible (discontinued) measure with the rifle drum for larger rifle cartridges like the 30-06.

I only have the large drum, never had a desire to acquire the small drum.

I only use the large drum... accurate down to 5 grains ... even close on <5 grs depending on powder. Mine has the Micrometer stem for easy adjustment. Had mine since 1969...

I use the small drum and even then I'm considering installing a bush to sleeve the bore down. The variations seem to be too great in the 3.8 to 4.2gr range that I use for 9x19.

I have them both, but usually only use the large one for everything. IMHO, if you get consistent throws of pistol sized charges out of the large drum, there's no need for the small drum.

Same here I have a micrometer equipped large drum that throws everything from 3.5g of unique to 80g of IMR 5010 within +- .15 g accuracy.
IMO the small drum is superfluous

viking,
I got so tired swapping them back and forth. That I bought the first used on in good condition at a gun show. That was some time ago and they went at a nicer price. The heck of it is I now use a Dillon 505 B for pistols.

I have the small drum & haven't seen a need to get the large one.
It works for .38 spl, .357 mag, 45 Colt & 223 rem.

I bought an extra Uniflow-now I have the best of both worlds. I have the small drum in one for the smaller loads, and the large drum in the second for larger pistol/rifle loads. BTW my first Uniflow is just now getting broken in, after close to 40 years of use..

I use the small on all pistol loads and 223. Large drum for all other rifle loads. I have two powder measures, both with micrometers. Love them dearly.

As of today, I have 2 Uniflows and one older Redding. Funny what a forgotten ebay bid will do.....
The Redding has a mic adjustment on it. The uniflows has both the large and small drums. Figure I will keep 2 and get rid of one. And add a mic adjustment to whichever one or two I need to.
