Most of the non 1911 style 9mms should be well within your price range. Have you tried finding a used gun on the internet auction/sale sites?

Take a look at the walther PPS 9mm with nightsights. Definitely thinner than a glock or xd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-4XdPxYU9E

Out of your price range ($1450) and only in my dream book at present, but man oh man these are nice...........Angus Hobdell's CZ PCR Pro-Tek 1.
Details are here: http://czcustom.com/testproduct-289.aspx

But Isher he could buy the PCR and have plenty left over to smooth out the trigger, buy ammo and have a first class pistol.
October 24, 2010, 01:11 PM
That would buy you a barely used HK P7 in excellent condition.

I carried a Glock 36 but found I could not conceal it relaibly at all times. Finally ended up with a Kahr PM-9 in a pocket holster.

Is a 1911 colt action type what your experience and training prove best training
Do you want 100% function feeding ignite primers sometimes with that needed second
Hit (rare) but unnecessary risk to your life and family
Go to well stocked dealers and ck out grips in Your Hands and write down facts
1. Grip ergo feel natural
2. Point after getting permission from selling agent in safe direction
And pull trigger cking for smoothness in both single and double
Action at least twice
3. call a range rent their whatever you like till you really like only one at less then 1k
4. get a experience gun fighter to teach you weekly to improve
5. Talk to range staff about spec training offered
6. go buy a used whatever and sleep with it under you pillow for 50 years I should
Of done this but instead owned every mass produced hand gun or close to that
I carry a P7M13
With a Sig 245 as back up
And a hkp2000sk under the pillow
this week lol

My votes for Sig or a Beretta
October 24, 2010, 03:08 PM
A Kahr CW9, extra mag, ammo and a holster.
October 24, 2010, 03:27 PM
What about a non-EMP compact 9mm 1911?
Kimber Ultra Carry or Springfield Ultra Compact for example?
If you like all steel guns that can be carried cocked and locked, check out the CZ-75 compact. They can be had NIB for under $500.
I don't care for the Kahr polymer guns, but that is personal preference. The steel frame guns are excellent and very small.
He's looking to spend a thousand bucks. For that amount, he can get a PM9, which is nicer.

I vote for a kahr PM9 or a glock 26... depending on how you carry it. PM9 for front pocket or glock 26 if IWB or OWB is your thing.

I like slim guns, especially for cc. My vote goes to the smith and wesson pps or whatever. Although my personal choices are a glock 36 and a smith and wesson snubby.

Good, spend $300.00 on a Kel Tec PF 9 and the other $700.00 on your wife and kids. Life is too short for expensive personal play toys in this economy. That's my advice.
October 24, 2010, 05:29 PM
Save a little longer and get what you want. You will not be dissapointed in the EMP.
October 24, 2010, 06:34 PM
Definitely get a Hk P7 PSP dont pay more than $799.00 and get a holster for it like $100.00
and two spare mags at $125.00
$1024.00 plus tax
there you have it.
October 24, 2010, 08:04 PM
Budsgunshop.com has the EMP 3" for $1075. Close enough to the K-note max? http://budsgunshop.com
My daily carry weapon is the much cheaper CZ 75D PCR, sometimes I carry a SIG RCS 1911, it has
a commander length slide with an officer size frame I got it for $1029+tax.

CZ 75 Stainless Limited or the SP 01. You won't be disappointed.
October 24, 2010, 08:16 PM
S&W 3913 or 3914 both are nice 9s.
October 24, 2010, 08:46 PM
I use Series 90 6+1 shot DAO Colt 9x19 with SS slide and AL frame. It's very flat and it's weight empty is 1.5lb. If I didn't own that my top pic would be S&W 3913.
Here is particularly ugly one but I read someplace that these are very reliable.

Do yourself a favor look at Kimber Aegis put next to EMP and you decide I thought I wanted EMP when I went to purchase dealer happen to have Aegis for about the same money I compared them side by side, fit and finish even the smooth feel of racking side hands down go to Kimber . Now you don't get extra mag which is BS on Kimbers behalf and cheesy holster that nobody that is serious about carry would use.
I want a quality concealed 9mm. I really like the Springfield EMP, but its slightly out of my price range.
Anyone got some good 9mm suggestions? I dont like the XD so much because of how brick like it feels to me.
Check out some of the CZ 75's . Very nice, shoot great and are in your price range.

DonRon.....Good, spend $300.00 on a Kel Tec PF 9 and the other $700.00 on your wife and kids. Life is too short for expensive personal play toys in this economy. That's my advice.
This is very good advice for everyone, if you have a family or any other financial need.
I've a question about the HK P7s. Are they blowback 9mm? The only one I ever held had an incredibly heavy recoil spring to get it chambered.
Anyhow. If you're determined to spend it all and are willing to look at SA, look also at an old mint Browning HP.

P2000, P2000sk, P30, P7, P7m8, or maybe even a G19 GEN4:rolleyes:. Just talkin shhhh. for all the 'G' guys out there since it wasnt mentioned yet. They are nice. I have one (GEN3). Just prefer a hammer thats all. FNP9, TONS of SIGS. Hell, PF9 aint a bad idea either, with tons of money left over for ammo/range time/classes/whatever. Get out there and handle some/shoot some if able to do so and, decide on that. Not what a bunch of strangers tell you to get from the internet. Although some good advice/point you in the right direction, only you can decide what YOU like. Good luck

S&W M&P 9C. Then you have $500 to kit it out with night sights and/or CT grips, Apex tactical sear, a nice holster and LOTS of ammo.
October 26, 2010, 10:10 PM
I'd vote for the Kahr PM9, very light and small. The Rohrbaugh is awesome, but will kill all of that $1k and maybe a little more.
