Is it ok to shoot either .45 super or +P loads in my FNP 45 without modifications? If not, what mods need to be made and suggestions for where or how to get this done?

I shoot 45 super in a kimber 1911 that I have made some changes to. I also have an fnp 45 and I have no problem with the +p loads(they are really not as powerful as many want to think) but I would not shoot healthy 45 super loads in the FNP. I get 1300 fps from my 45 super loads so they are in another level from +p loads.

I wouldn't shoot .45 Super in FNP's. They're not setup for it. If you want to shoot .45 Supers, pick up an HK45. If you damage the FNP shooting Supers, FNH won't warranty it.

Plus P is probably OK (check the firearm's owner's manual). It is only a modest increase over standard pressure. .45 Super is, IMO, far too hot for an unmodified pistol. It would probably not blow it up, but its component life will be short, assuming it even functions. If you look at Ace Custom's (the pioneer in this area) site, you will find that all the pistols so chambered are fairly heavily modified, with stiffer recoil springs and other parts "beefed up."
