Ok, my local store has a 1919 semi-auto in .308. Does anyone know if the links used for the ammo belts can be re-used? I've seen the links at $30 for 300 and the linking machine for $350.

The links can be reused. You can also change the gun over to use cloth belts. Sarco has links $65/1000, $215/5000. They also have all the goodies you need. I'm not sure the conversion kits from 30-06 to 308 would work on the semi gun, so I guess you might need to decide what caliber you want before you buy it. The 308 would probably be cheaper to feed in the long run. If you can get a copy of Jan. 20th's Shotgun News, Sarco has an add with a couple of pages of 1919 stuff in it.
