Sure was. From the article, it didn't make the warden sound like an anti hunting zealot, just a guy that loved the outdoors that learned a living being a game warden.

The game warden was another law enforcement officer who was doing his job. The perp is a convicted felon who did not want to go back to prison. He was poaching deer at night: A dead deer was found near the scene of the shooting.

The prosecutor is contemplating asking for the death penalty. The death penalty is appropriate in this case.

From the refernced link above: Johnson told police on the way to the hospital that he had shot Grove with a .45-caliber handgun, authorities wrote in an affidavit.

"He advised that he was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and did not want to go back to prison," the investigating troopers wrote.

He also told officers he had thrown the weapon into the woods after shooting off the handcuffs.

There have been a number of articles that hit pretty much yesterday. This is sad. This is the first article that I observed the caliber of the gun mentioned. I had thought it was a 22 rifle which was reported to be used by the poachers while spotlighting deer.

This guy will be in jail or worse a long time. Looks like he has found a new permanent residence.

Never heard of any warden in PA being anti-hunting.

Very sad for the affected family. Doing his job.... is it worth dying for?

So the felon made a bad choice in having a handgun as an ALREADY convicted felon, and then ANOTHER choice to murder someone instead of going back to jail, which is where he was headed anyway. Death penalty is appropriate.

Sad, but not on topic.
