The 1911 will soon be officially 100 years old. I wonder if sales will go up in 2011? Probably be some anniversary editions in the offering and maybe a good time to be in the 1911 making business.
Do you have any 100 year plans, i.e. purchase, etc.?

I put a DW Valor on layaway but will probably pick it up before 2011.
I am thinking I will take it to the range for the first time on 1/1/11. That's if I can be that patient.

You can expect to see a glut of magazine lead story hyperboles, that's for certain. :uhoh:

I'll definitely buy one. I'll probably save up throughout the year to make sure that the one I do buy is special.

S&W might have something in the mix. One of their customer service reps inferred that their R&D department was "considering several things" for the anniversary. Nothing has been announced, however.
I plan on getting a SW1911 next year.

I was looking at an Ed Brown Executive Elite Centennial Edition the other day. $2400+. Tru-ivory grips, JMB serial number, etc.
Nice gun I do believe.

It will be alive and well in another 100 yrs possum, unless we invent a death ray or something cool like that. :)

Is anybody releasing a direct copy of the first 1911 model or do they all have the changes that have been added on?
