Cz p-01

I'm new around here, and have a question for any CZ P-01 owners.
Will the pistol fire with the magazine removed? The manual really doesn't say, but I'm guessing that it will not since the magazine has to be inserted for takedown.

Yes, it will fire the round in the chamber with the magazine removed. I don't have to put the magazine in my PCR when I field strip it.

P-01 rocks. BTW, who told you the magazine has to be in to disassemble it? I've had mine for 9 years or so now, never once did that. Mag out for safety.

Hey, thanks guys!
I don't know where I got that idea...I re-read the manual on disassembly and figure I just misunderstood it. It sounded like a bad idea from the start. :uhoh:
I'm glad to know you can fire with the magazine removed. That's a good feature. I know some pistols require a mag to be fired.
I should have a CZ of my own in a few days!!

well good for you, Henry. You know what to do, shoot that thing, post some pics and a range report.

Another question. I've read that some guys have had "gritty" triggers and have had to do some sanding/polishing. Have any of you had problems with the trigger on the P-01?

Yes, gritty is a good way to put it. Just get a couple of 100 packs of Wincherster and shoot 'till the guns good and hot. That usually smooths things out and you can see for yourself if the triggers OK for you. That's what I do. Dry fire just doesn't get it for me.
