What can a service member or former member buy as far a NFA weapons? do they get perks for they great service? can they get goodies made after may 1986? do they LE prices for them?

No, no, no, and no.

Only agencies of the government (police departments, sheriff's offices, FBI, military, etc.) and licensed SOT 02 and SOT 03 FFLs can own machine guns registered after 1986.

Even active duty military or sworn law enforcement officers cannot personally own them.

As for other types of NFA weapons, all of the same laws that apply to Joe Q. Normaldude apply to a serviceman or LEO.

I am pretty sure that some manufacturers of silencers/suppressors and perhaps other NFA items do offer military and LEO discounts, though it would be entirely up to the manufacturer to decide to do so.
