Silly question - have you tried another set of batteries? Could be the new ones were bad out of the box.

Make sure it is properly installed and seated. I had one (very briefly) and it was a little finicky at times.

I guess the batteries could be bad
bought a set of batteries from ???? for the lasermax wrapped in plastic-didn't work
bought batteries off the internet in foil pack-- put tape around them and installed --nothing
as far as the installing it correctly did it well over 25 times and nothing
never had a problem installing/removing it when it was new

One thing you could try is to find someone with a variable DC power supply and "jump start" it. Just add up the voltages on the battery stack and dial it in on the power supply. If that doesn't work, the unit is "dead".

for as much as those things cost, you'd think they'd have a longer warranty.
I've personally never been interested because of the cost. take a $15 laser pointer and make it fit in a gun and it's somehow worth $300+

I've seen laser pointers for $3 on the web, but haven't bought one because the shipping would cost more than the laser!

To be fair those $3 laser pointers (I use those as cat toys) aren't designed to continue operating when strapped to a gun. I suspect they wouldn't last very long.
So it's out of warranty. Will Lasermax do out-of-warranty work? How much? How much for just a diagnosis? Work wtih them.
