Aggghh! I went to see what was going on at the gun shop today, and they had three LA rifles (2- .44 mag and 1- .41 mag) on the used rack. Need help... please send cash to Atticus...I'm low on plasma. And no... I didn't buy one.:banghead:

Use patience. Get one when you can afford it. There will always be lever-action .44mags around. (Now .41's might be a differents story...)

I think you need to call in all debts, mow lawns, and wash cars. The last time I had my hands on a .44 mag lever, I balked. Thought about it. And it was gone. Haven't seen one since. Get it while its hot. Apply for a credit card on-line. Do it for your country

Lever gun, Pistol caliber = lots of fun...........Plinking, easy to find brass. If the price is agreeable, don't wait. I didn't and have never been happier with a purchase, even convinced several friends to go and purchase lever action pistol caliber guns. And the kids will thank you for it in time:)

Hmmmm...I've got $300 stashed away to pay off my 12 months same -as cash- deal that I bought the Para P14 with...and that isn't due till next July....hmmmm. Naw ...better listen to DaveR and Gary...and that little jerk standing on my shoulder...oh wait... that little jerk's voice sounds like my wife. :D

Cowboy assault rifles are not going to be banned anytime soon.
When you say you have $300 I hope you have much more savings and that $300 is in the "gun fund." If your savings is really only a few hundred dollars then you shouldn't buy anything for a long time. I don't mean to get too personal, but I'm afraid some people think it is ok to live with no savings.

:D No...I'm being a little facetious. That $300 is pocket money, put away to pay off my Para. I'm doing fine financially... started a 401K twenty some odd years ago. My gun buying is an issue with the wife (who see's it as a total waste) and THAT is why I try to cause as few ripples in the pond as I can. She has an MBA, is a project Manager/Planner, and has worked as an auditor in the past -so she's a tough one to get over on (and I mean that in the most sincere and loving way) Sound advice though.

Well in that case tell her that just like jewelry, Firearms are a very safe investment that will not lose value if cared for. That argument seems to work on most of the female critics I know. If they still argue, open their closet and reach toward the back. Grab someting and ask how much it cost new and how much she could sell it for today. Invite her to do the same with your gunsafe.
So tell her you need to better diversify your investment portfolio with a little more gold, diamonds, walnut and steel.

I would like to have a .44 Mag Marlin to go with my S&W M 29 ( bought used ) .
In the other hand , I suspect there would be no comparrison to my Marlin in RIFLE caliber , .45-70 . :-)
With home cast bullets ( scrounged lead ) & Unique powder , it is almost as cheap to shoot as a .44 Mag .
God bless

No4Mk1- Been down that road a few times...seems she would prefer new jewlery and clothes now. I told her just yesterday, that someday she would inherit my guns and could sell them all off. She got a strange gleam in her eye, and it appeared that a plan had begun to form in her mind. :uhoh:
IMHO -A good portfolio should be diverse and contain at least 6 Marlins.
