nathan November 24, 2010, 10:29 PM I just took this one and noticed the 54 R is a tad shorter in case vs the .303 Brit. Both are soft point hunting ammo in 180 gr . HOOfan_1 November 24, 2010, 10:36 PM shorter but fatter. The 7.62x54R has more case capacity 2ndAmFan November 24, 2010, 11:10 PM 7.62x54R has greater muzzle velocity and energy. Appx 200 FPS greater velocity over .303 using 150 grain bullet.
