Fiocchi primers?

I finally ran out of my stash of small pistol primers and had to buy some. Oh how the prices have changed in over a decade, I should have bought more during the Clinton years.

Anyway, I had a choice of 34.95 / M for cci or 39.95 for 1500 Fiocchi . I asked the guy if Fioochi was okay stuff and he said he had not received any complaints.

Well, doing the numbers in my head, I figured that Fiocchi sounded like a hell of a deal.

I noticed while loading a small test batch of .40 S&W that using a Lee auto prime (square tray) that the Fiocchi primers felt like they 'snapped' into place. That was a different feeling. I've been using Remington 1 1/2 or CCI for primers and those seem to be a linear push.

Anyway, did I buy decent primers? The price is decent enough that I wouldn't mind buying some more.

Thanks,

Clutch

Can't speak for the primers, but I love their loaded ammo.

I've never shot their loaded ammo but I've picked up and reloaded a number of .40 cases. Good brass imho.

I have CCI, Winchester, Remington, and Federal primers I have been using. I have some Wolf, but have not used any. I bet the Fiocchi primers work just fine.

I've got about 6 bricks of wolf sp primers on hand, that I bought 5 years ago for $20/1000. I've had zero problems with them.

I have been using Fiocchi for the last 5-600 rounds or so and I have had no issues.

Haven't reloaded with their primers, but their loaded ammo is top notch.

The local MC Sports (a chain of sporting goods stores) almost always has Fiocchi ammo on sale.

Last week I bought 2 boxes of .357 mag for $17.99/box. Usually it's about $30/box from other places.

I've only loaded Fiocchi shotshell primers, and in over 15,000 of them, I've never had one fail to go off.

Hope this helps.

I like Fiocchi ammo and their brass. I haven't tried their primers but I also would bet they are fine.

In my opinion they are a little oversized. I have to grab the back of my LNL to get enough force to seat, then sometimes they don't bottom out and hang up the shell plate. I have no problem on my LNL with CCI primers.

Only primers I use are Remington, Winchester, Federal and CCI. Would use the others if my local dealers carried them.
