To all that have helped me workout the load that my Ruger .44 SBH 5.5" barrel likes.

Ended up being 22.0 grains of IMR 4227, Win Brass, Win Primers, and 240 gr LSWC from MCB.
After putting on the larger Hogue grips I can rip out the bull at 25 yards all day long. Usually it s 2 clover leafs of 3. All touching.

The Hogue grips also helped tighten up the other loads I had tried, but nothing shot more consistent than the IMR 4227. That is some good 'ol powder for the .44 Magnum. Gets me right at 1340 fps from my gun. I can live with that, and the recoil is nice and smooth. Unlike 2400 and Unique. Which appear to be a sharper recoil than the IMR 4227. None which are unmanageable.

Well again, thanks to the forum. You all help out a lot.

The load that my SBH shoots is located at http://data.hodgdon.com for .44 Remington Magnum.

Ain't it sweet when you find a winner!

Problem is now you will get bored and have to buy a new caliber or gun to tinker with. :D

Sure is. Ha. Your right. Wifey said for Christmas I get to replace my AR-15 that I sold. Placed an order with White Oak a few weeks ago.

Have you been doing okay? How's the SRH shooting these days?
