Storage of REAL and Other firearms

So a thought i had from a previous thread.

In my home I have multiple REAL firearms and a couple of what I call others which consist of pellet guns, airsoft, etc.

Now my pellet guns look very real. My pump pellet rifle actually looks like a real 22lr and has the weight/feel of a real 22lr. I have a co2 pistol that looks like a real 1911. Does not have the weight or feel though. I have seen stores that carry M&P pellet guns that feel just like my real one.

As part of my storage safety rules I keep these types of weapons completely separate to avoid there ever being any chance of mistaking the two. While I would not mistake my firearms, my wife also has the key to the safes and while there is another key anywhere besides the one in my pocket I assume there is a chance someone unfamiliar with all my firearms could be in a position to look access them.

I have REAL firearms in safes, with my others in different areas altogether.

I am curious for those who have similar situation, what steps do you take in storage or anything else to keep them separated, or do you keep them separated at all?

I don't keep them separated. By the same reasoning you would have to keep firearms of different calibers and their respective ammunition separated so the less experienced person wouldn't confuse them.

What is the point of the safe if other people are constantly peeking inside it?

Same safe for airsoft and "real" guns. Too many kids here in the house.

On second thought.... my daughter's NERF guns are in a different location than the others....

Lol, not much chance confusing those.

People don't but as anal as I am there is that chance. I can't say I know anyone who would make that mistake but it just sat bad with me to have them together. Once again, my anal nature.

I saw the calibers as different since no matter 22LR or 308 all are lethal to humans. My pellet guns now while definitely able to do harm, are not extremely lethal. They are locked up cause I'd like to avoid blind children if I can.
