Hey guys, I was just wondering what you thought about the value of the Hornady LNL Classic Kit.

From Cabela's it's $250, and because of Hornady's promotional offer I'd get 500 free bullets in .308 at 155gr.

Thanks for your help.

I love mine have had it several years and lots of rounds on it. I also have the AP press which I load handgun on.The price sounds good plus the bullet deal I did not get the bullet deal mine was way before that.

It's as good as any single stage ... the primer feed wasn't worth the installation ... Cabela's has a bunch of $20 off $100 coupons floating around now.

I like that press, especially if you're doing pistol and planning on a progressive (LNL AP) further into the future. That way you conserve your investment in LNL bushings which you might buy now, because you can use them on the AP.

The book is great, and has a wonderful introduction to reloading section. The powder measure is right up there with the best. I don't see a 6" caliper, so you'll need one of those. I prefer a squarish primer flip tray only because the primer boxes are square.

You'll do good!

$250?? I guess I'm a miser.

I'd rather pay $94 for a Lee Challenger Breech Lock Single Stage Press Kit

This looks like a good price. Press is well made and provides good leverage when loading larger calibers. You still need a caliper, bullet puller, and at least one more loading block. I would also suggest getting the optional primer feed or better yet the RCBS bench mounted primer tool (both make priming easier and faster). A good single stage press is great to have even if later on you add a progressive press.
