I recently moved to Puyallup WA and now I need to find a local gun store. I try and do most of my business at local gun stores rather than sporting goods stores. The only local shop I know about is Marys Pistols. I have not been there yet but from the website it looks mighty tiny. So I could use some suggestions.

There are plenty in the area. The marksman on canyon and 512 or Surplus ammo and arms on Pacific Highway in Lakewood are my 2 personal favorites

Mary's is indeed small but they're good people.

You should also check out the Washington Arms Collectors shows at the Puyallup Fair Grounds. Normally held there once per month.

Welcher's at 64th and Pacific Avenue in Tacoma
has been around a long time. The second generation
has been running things for at least 25 years. Prices
are marginally higher, but you get personal service,
integrity and excellent advice from salesmen, one of
whom I have known, in the business, about 35 years.
Good selection, typically high quality goods, fair sized
support goods area, and smith services. Walk in the
door and you see a small store, crammed to the gills,
but clearly well run and very neat. Advice is clearly
and carefully dispensed, no BS.

I lived in Issaquah, WA until very recently and did most of my business with Dan Cowen (224 Wells Avenue South, Renton, WA 98057: 425-227-9280) I realize that it isn't IN Puyallup but I promise...it's worth the drive. He's a fine gentleman and a damn good smith.

I like The Marksman on Canyon. They get my money every time I'm ready for a new piece.
