Are there any good options for a green laser with a Glock 26? Something that's grip activated, or doesn't involve messing with a switch? Compact enough not to interfere with a draw from concealed carry?

It's probably not going to be a problem in Texas, but I've read that green lasers don't perform well at all below 50F. Something to consider.

I also have heard they eat batterys like pop-corn.

I'd suggest a Crimson-Trace red laser.

They work perfectly fine at SD distances or dim light most likely in a SD situation..
Not so hot in bright direct sun at longer range is all.
And the batterys last forever.

Are there any grip-activated green lasers for the G26 out there?

These are pretty compact but you still have to deal with a switch. http://www.lasermax.com/
I know green is clearly more visible during the day than red. As you know the green laser is also visible throughout its path. Unless there is smoke or fog along the path red has a lower probability of intercept and is only visible at the source and reflected off the target.

I think the power consumption issue with the green laser may be an issue but I haven't seen any quantifiable data on that. It just seems that CTC has been slow to incorporate green lasers into their product line. Their product though would come the closest to your grip activated requirement.

Thanks! I think that's the closest contender so far!

i just got a viridian C5 green laser. fits nicely on my glock 17 rail, and can easily be turned on with your index finger. has a steady beam and a battery saving strobe mode. cost was 209 with free ship from optics planet.

the c5 fits on any glock.

the c5 fits on any glock.

Er, no it doesn't. Their fit chart - http://www.viridiangreenlaser.com/products/fitchart/ - clearly shows that it doesn't. The Glock 26 doesn't have any rail system, thus the issue with finding a green laser that isn't rail mounted.

Oops, you are right! Never ran into the 26....

BTW I just started a thread about my green laser experience...

Checked out the laser max link. I could not believe they actually have a guide rod replacement laser. Now if that don't beat all!!! Technology!!! http://www.lasermax.com/downloads/LaserMax_2010_Catalog_(Final)_lo.pdf

Guess I will have to wait for a green guide-rod laser :/
