Looking for a BIG revolver

I'm looking for my latest fun revolver. I very much like the look of the Ruger Redhawk (not Super Redhawk because it only comes with ugly synthetic grips AFAIK), 44 magnum, with wood grips (love wood grips). Was also looking with interest at the SW 500. Has synthetic grips probably for good reason (not a fan of synthetic but can see that this gun might be more practical with them). Noticed the Waddell Bone Collector S&W performance Center version with 10.5" barrel is still available despite limited run of 1000. Price is a consideration for me. Where in this sector do you think I should go for most fun factor. I would not use it for hunting (at least I've never hunted yet) so I would probably only use it for making holes in paper. Ruger or S&W? Something else? Caliber? Barrel length? Thanks for your advice.

Looks like you've got some good candidates there. I would also recommend the Dan Wesson .44 with interchangeable barrels.

Did you say big ?
How's about this for BIG ?

50-70 revolver. The cartridge and the gun dwarf the 500 magnum it's sitting next to. I use it more for conversation than shooting though.
FYI: The 500 magnum with 4 inch barrel is actualy more practical and fun to shoot. Very managable with lighter magnum loads.

Soon's I saw the thread title and that Gunkwazy had last posted in it, knew what would be in the pictures. Here's another comparison of a Century (alas, a "mere" .45-70) against a .500S&W and a BFR .45-70:

If you get .460S&W you will also be able to shoot .45 Colt or .454 Casull in it. Prolong and heavy use of short cartridges may lead to chamber erosion but you can do it if you so desire.
